Sofia McCann is an audio designer and composer for video games from Boston, Massachusetts. She gradated from Berklee College of Music in 2024, where she received the Fall 2023 Women in Game Audio Award for her recognized potential to make a significant contribution to society through music. Sofia is now based in Los Angeles to further her career in the world of video game audio. She has worked on plenty of student and indie games, and is now focusing her time on a game called Pure Rise with her twin sister as the lead audio director.
She is proficient in Wwise, FMOD, Cubase, Protools, and Reaper. She uses each for different purposes, and takes great pride in her knowledge of each and understanding their specialties. Sofia's favorite middleware is Wwise, and she has devoted a great amount of time to mastering it. She loves to learn, and has turned her interest in coding into a professional skill. Sofia is proficient in C#, and is now working on C++ and Lua. Her hobbies include skateboarding, attempting at building guitar pedals, and she also enjoys hikes with her dog. Sofia is a musician and plays cello and guitar, and enjoys playing in sessions for any kind of music.

I am a guitarist, cellist, and drummer. I've played in recording sessions and live shows for all instruments, and I love to create specialized compositions using my skills.

I have plenty of experience engineering recording sessions in the renowned studios at Berklee College of Music. I can set up for any session you need, from foley to a rock band.
Live Session Experience
I have experience preparing for and leading live recording sessions. I have conducted large orchestral sessions with a variety of different instruments.
